Most dresses are very complicated in their construction and its important that whoever carries out this work has a good understanding of what is possible and how different fabric reacts. Q How many fittings will I need and how much will it cost? A You will need one or two fittings on average and the price depends on so many things, the most expensive dresses to alter are heavily beaded bodices, hems and dresses with several layers of underskirt which make the dress very difficult to handle. Some bodices have three or four layers of fabric and are boned in several places. Other dresses are made like evening dresses so are much easier. Bridesmaid dresses are fitted with great care so the wearer will be as happy as possible. Most dresses can only be supplied in stock sizes so often need attention to give a better fit. Q After fitting when will my dress be ready? A We are able to give you complete peace of mind that your dress will be ready at least one week before your wedding and will be checked over and ready to wear on collection. |
